Our names are Adam and Candace Crowston, and we would like to welcome you to the online home of Neaveh Cattery! This website is dedicated to our much-loved hobby of raising and showing Persian and Exotic cats.

History

Early in 2003, we purchased our first Persian kitten named Duchess near our hometown in Ontario, Canada. Duchess endearing personality got us hooked! Shortly after Duchess joined our home, we registered the cattery name Nevaeh with the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and the Canadian Cat Association (CCA).    Read More ..

Health and Temperament

When selecting kitties for our breeding program, we choose them first by, their health and temperament, second by their phenotype (or good looks as it is known in the cat fancy) and third by their pedigree. The health of our cats is very important to us; we raise our cats using a mixture of homeopathic and allopathic medicine with the guidance of our veterinarian. Our breeding cats have also been DNA tested for the PKD gene. Polycystic kidney Disease (PKD) is the most common congenital disease facing Persian cats today. PKD causes cysts to form and develop in the kidneys slowly causing them to cease functioning. The Ultimate end of this disease is kidney failure.

Our Goal

The goal of our show and breeding program is to produce happy, healthy kittens that fit as closely as possible to their breed standards, and exhibit our cats and kittens in their best condition at sanctioned shows.

Exhibition

Adam and I both really enjoy the challenge of exhibiting our cats; you can expect to see us occasionally exhibiting our cats at both CFA and CCA shows.

Please have a look around our site, if you have any questions please e-mail or call and we would be happy to answer them!

Here at Nevaeh, our cats and kittens mean the world to us! After assisting their delivery into this world, we spend numerous hours playing, grooming and socializing our kittens.

As the kittens begin to grow, we assess their quality using the CFA and the CCA breed standards. After we assess their quality, and they have received their first check up and a clean bill of health, we list them as available.    Read More ..

Dawnovan Cymbeline of Nevaeh

Simba as she was known around the house, could often be found beside me (Candace) at the computer, often helping me type along side Adanac. Late in the winter of 2006 I noticed that Simba just wasn't the same, wasn't interested in eating or drinking, just not being her usual happy go lucky self.

We brought Simba to the vet, only to find out that it was to late to save her.

I thought I was treating the cats by feeding them a "Quality" brand of wet cat food as a treat. It ended up being a huge mistake and I lost one of my beloved cats.

We miss you , and someday we will see you again!

Dahlias Aslan of Nevaeh

Asie... What can't I say about this boy, he is more dog like than any cat I have ever met! Aslan gives kisses with is rough little kitty tongue on demand. Asie was our first show cat, he did very well as a kitten. Unfortunately we were not able to show Asie as an adult due to congenital eye defect.

Aslan went on to live his remaining days with Candace's mom and dad. Aslan's life was cut tragically short by another congenital defect called HCM. There is currently not a DNA test available for HCM in Persian cats at this time, when it becomes available we plan to test all of our cats. Aslan will be terribly missed in our lives, and someday we will see him again!

Asie is a red tabby and white Persian male that we showed as a kitten with the Canadian Cat Association. Asie was a real hit in the show hall giving all the judges kisses and cuddles! Aslan did very well as a kitten, always making finals! Due to a possible genetic eye condition we retired Aslan both from the show hall and our breeding program.

In 2005 we decided that we were really interested in showing our cats and realized that our cats were not meeting the current bred standards in place. We decided that if we were going to continue breeding cats, it must be for a purpose other than producing happy pet kittens, we wanted the whole package! Our search began, we found a lovely red and white Persian kitten that we called Dahlia’s Aslan of Nevaeh. Aslan was shown extensively as a kitten, receiving many second and third best in show awards and making many finals!

After many years of admiring the Exotic breed, in 2007 we decided that we were ready jump in. Our search began; we spent days on the computer looking all over Canada and the United States searching for that special “one”. Well we found him! CH Katrina-Cat Cashmere Absolut, a blue and white exotic shorthair. Cashmere again is the whole package; a sweet personality, fantastic head shape, a great body and remarkable coat. During the 2007-2008 show season, Cashmere was awarded the title of 14th best cat in Canadian Cat Association’s Region 2.

AVAILABLE CATS & KITTENS

Here at Nevaeh, our cats and kittens mean the world to us! After assisting their delivery into this world, we spend numerous hours playing, grooming and socializing our kittens.

As the kittens begin to grow, we assess their quality using the CFA and the CCA breed standards. After we assess their quality, and they have received their first check up and a clean bill of health, we list them as available.

Our kittens leave our home between the ages of 12-16 weeks of age when we can assure that they are completely weaned from their mother and are able to be raised by their new human parents. We try our hardest to match our kittens with families that suit their personalities, to do this we need to know as much about you and your family as you can tell us!

To reserve a kitten, we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the kitten, if for some reason the sale is cancelled, the deposit is kept for payment of board, grooming and lost possibilities to place the kitten.

Each and every kitten is sold with a contract to ensure that the level of care the kitten is used to will be practiced through its whole life. We stand behind the quality of our kittens and offer a genetic health guarantee. Through your kitten’s life, we will stay available to answer any questions you may have. We also love to receive updates about how our kittens are doing in their new homes!

When purchasing a Nevaeh kitten, rest assured that you are getting a healthy, happy well socialized kitten!

Kittens come with a care pack that includes a sample of their diet (Riplees Ranch holistic cat food & an occasional treat of wet food), photo’s of their parents, the kitten’s pedigree, a care and grooming booklet, toys that the kitten is used to playing with and their health record.

We are experienced with shipping world wide, but we hold the right to refuse shipping to any country that has quarantine restrictions that could endanger the life of our kittens.
